We hope you’re having an august August (which apparently means “respected and impressive”) and that you’re enjoying the cooler summer weather.

Here is what to look forward to at our next meeting on the 8th of August at The Hive WI…

Main Activities

This month we are meeting at Dovecote Lane Park for an August Picnic (read that as you will).

As picnics are weather dependent, please keep an eye on our Facebook group to check that it is still going ahead on the day.

In the event of rain, we will aim to meet at a pub instead and will also post the name of the pub on the “august” day.

A final decision will be made by 3pm.

Please note also that this month we will be meeting at the earlier time of 7 o’clock rather than our usual time of 7.30.

Swap Shops

There will be no swap shop this month. It will be back in September though!

This Month’s Top Tip

As guests can come to the picnic for free this month it is a good chance to bring along a friend to enjoy the summer evening with. Any lady over 18 is welcome.

Attendees are asked to bring their own food, cups, plates, cutlery, and something to sit on.

If you’re in the mood, feel free to bring some games that are suitable for the outdoors

This Month’s Marvelous Volunteers

As everybody is bringing food, you are ALL our marvelous volunteers this month 🙂

Time and Location

We will meet at the earlier time of 7pm on the 8th of August at Dovecote Lane Park.

As the picnic is dependent on good weather, we will confirm or cancel the picnic on the day by 3pm in our Facebook group.

In the event of a cancellation, we will meet at a pub – the details of which will also be posted in our Facebook group.

Refreshments

Please bring enough food and drinks for yourself. You can, of course, bring an excess to share with other people.

Some good picnic food ideas include sandwiches, fruit, pizza, dips, vegetables and other things to dip in the dips, biscuits, doughnuts, salads, falafels, and quiches.

Members and Guests

Guests can come to the picnic for free this month.

Please make sure that your guest is a human lady over the age of 18.
